We had the greatest experience at Bearizona today! We didn't arrive to Williams until 2:00 am this morning, so it was a bit rough getting out to bed. Marty, Derek, and I stayed up most of the evening on the drive. Devlin enjoyed the car ride. He was awesome the whole way. We left Laguna Hills at 3:15 pm and hit a ton of traffic. Let's just say we have learned our lesson and will not be doing that again!
After breakfast at our hotel, we headed to Bearizona. In the car ride over, we enjoyed the scenery. Devlin said, "we live in such a beautiful world." Bearizona exceeded all our expectations. We had the best time! When you drive up to the entrance, you pay your fee, and they give you a gps that connects to your radio, so you have commentary throughout the drive. It was so cool! We saw bison, deer, black bears, wolves, and so many more animals. They were about 10 feet from the car, which was very exciting. After you drive through the park, you pull into a parking lot and walk through an area with more animals, a gift shop, and concession stand. They had times to watch them feed the otters, and offered a few shows.
We only spent a few hours at Bearizona, and looking back I wish we would have stayed a little longer. There really isn't a lot to do in Williams, and I didn't spend too much time reviewing the tour book. (My mother, who always read the tour book, had a map in the car, and planned ahead is rolling her eyes right now!) The boys got hungry, and we wanted to head into downtown Williams to see if we could catch a train to the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, the only train ride they offer is in the morning. We are scheduled to take the train tomorrow morning.
We ate lunch at the Red Raven Restaurant. The food was decent. Derek and I had a burger, Marty had tacos, and Devlin had soup. There are not a lot of choices around here. None of us are in a driving mood after yesterday, so we don't want to head to Sedona or Flagstaff.
